On the 60th Republic day Shri K. Chandramouli the Central Provident Fund Commissioner unfurled the Tricolor at Head office in the presence of officers, staff and their family members at 10.00 AM.

While greeting the gathering on the occasion, the CPFC pointed out that EPFO has the largest Social Security set up not only in the country but is also the world’s biggest institution of its kind. And therefore it is our responsibility to ensure that the services that we are mandated to provide reaches the last person in the line-“the subscriber” with the greatest efficiency. The EPFO should endeavour to ensure subscriber satisfaction. It was therefore important to everyone to rededicate themselves to the cause of providing social security to all the contributors.

Others who spoke at the occasion were Shri Trilok Chand , Shri K.C. Pandey, Shri V.P. Ramaiah , Shri P. Sudhakar Babu all Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioners, Shri Abhay Kumar Singh Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer and Lt Col. P. K. Chaturvedi Chief Engineer. The officers spoke about the historical perspective in which the nation became a republic. They elaborated that the right to choose and change governments in a peaceful way is an example of how a country of billions with unparallel diversity has matured over the years. They said that although sixty years is a good number of years for making huge progress in the country, a lot needs to be done further. EPFO as an institution that has the mandate of ensuring as well as deepening the reach and quality of social security and therefore has a special role to play in the social and economic development of the country.

The celebrations ended with impromptu cultural function by the staff and their family members. Shri Kumar Rohit Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (Administrative Services Division), while thanking the CPFC and senior officers for enthusing the gathering for a renewed commitment thanked the gathering for a joyful republic day celebration.
